This Connecticut Privacy Rights Addendum supplements the IHM Holdings Privacy Policy and applies to residents of Connecticut. It describes how International Healthcare Media, LLC ("IHM," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal data of Connecticut residents, and the rights you have under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act ("CTDPA," Conn. Gen. Stat. §§ 42-515 through 42-525), effective July 1, 2023.
This notice applies to you if you are a resident of Connecticut acting in an individual or household context. It does not apply to:
Note: Connecticut amended the CTDPA in 2023 to lower the applicability threshold. The law now applies to persons who control or process the personal data of at least 25,000 consumers and derive more than 25% of gross revenue from the sale of personal data (reduced from the original 100,000 consumer threshold for non-revenue-dependent businesses).
We collect the following categories of personal data from Connecticut residents:
We process personal data for the following purposes:
We share personal data with service providers who process data on our behalf under written contracts that restrict their use of the data to the services we have engaged them to provide.
IHM shares personal data with advertisers, sponsors, and marketing partners — including identifiers, professional information, internet activity data, and inferences — for purposes of targeted advertising and direct marketing. Under the CTDPA, this constitutes the "sale" of personal data and/or processing personal data for "targeted advertising."
Categories of third parties receiving personal data:
Under the CTDPA, the "sale of personal data" means the exchange of personal data for monetary or other valuable consideration. IHM does exchange personal data with third parties for monetary consideration. You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal data.
Under the CTDPA, "sensitive data" includes personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, mental or physical health condition or diagnosis, sex life or sexual orientation, citizenship or immigration status, genetic or biometric data, children's data, and precise geolocation data.
IHM does not intentionally collect most categories of sensitive data. As a healthcare media company, content engagement on our websites may indirectly reveal health-related interests. We will not process sensitive data without first obtaining your consent, as required by the CTDPA.
As a Connecticut resident, you have the following rights:
You have the right to confirm whether we are processing your personal data and to access such data.
You have the right to correct inaccuracies in your personal data.
You have the right to request deletion of personal data you have provided to us or that we have obtained about you.
You have the right to obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format.
You have the right to opt out of the processing of your personal data for purposes of targeted advertising.
You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal data to third parties.
You have the right to opt out of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CTDPA rights.
The CTDPA requires controllers to honor universal opt-out mechanisms. IHM honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. If your browser or device sends a GPC signal, we will treat that signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale of your personal data and targeted advertising.
You can enable GPC in supported browsers and browser extensions. For more information, visit globalprivacycontrol.org.
You may submit a request to exercise your rights using any of the following methods:
