This Oregon Privacy Rights Addendum supplements the IHM Holdings Privacy Policy and applies to residents of Oregon. It describes how International Healthcare Media, LLC ("IHM," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal data of Oregon residents, and the rights you have under the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act ("OCPA," ORS §§ 646A.570–646A.604), effective July 1, 2024.
This notice applies to you if you are a resident of Oregon acting in an individual or household context. It does not apply to:
Important: The OCPA has several unique features among state privacy laws:
We collect the following categories of personal data from Oregon residents:
We process personal data for the following purposes:
We share personal data with service providers who process data on our behalf under written contracts that restrict their use of the data to the services we have engaged them to provide.
IHM shares personal data with advertisers, sponsors, and marketing partners — including identifiers, professional information, internet activity data, and inferences — for purposes of targeted advertising and direct marketing. Under the OCPA, this constitutes the "sale" of personal data and/or processing personal data for "targeted advertising."
Categories of third parties receiving personal data:
Under the OCPA, the "sale of personal data" means the exchange of personal data for monetary or other valuable consideration. IHM does exchange personal data with third parties for monetary consideration. You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal data.
Under the OCPA, you have the right to request a list of the specific third parties (not just categories) to whom we have disclosed your personal data. This is a broader right than provided by most other state privacy laws. To request this list, use the contact methods described below.
Under the OCPA, "sensitive data" includes personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, mental or physical health condition or diagnosis, sexual orientation, citizenship or immigration status, genetic or biometric data, children's data, and precise geolocation data.
The OCPA has strict requirements for sensitive data processing, including geolocation data:
Geolocation protections: Oregon has among the strictest requirements for geolocation data among state privacy laws. If we were to collect precise geolocation data in the future, we would obtain opt-in consent and provide clear disclosure of the data's use, as required by the OCPA.
As an Oregon resident, you have the following rights under the OCPA:
You have the right to confirm whether we are processing your personal data and to access such data.
You have the right to correct inaccuracies in your personal data, taking into account the nature of the data and the purposes of the processing.
You have the right to request deletion of personal data you have provided to us or that we have obtained about you.
You have the right to obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format.
You have the right to obtain a list of the specific third parties to whom we have disclosed your personal data. This goes beyond the "categories of third parties" disclosure required by other states — under the OCPA, you can request the actual names of the companies we have shared your data with.
You have the right to opt out of the processing of your personal data for purposes of targeted advertising.
You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal data to third parties.
You have the right to opt out of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your OCPA rights.
You may submit a request to exercise your rights using any of the following methods:
To opt out of the sale of personal data or targeted advertising:
To protect your privacy, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to your request. We may ask you to confirm your email address, name, or other identifying information we have on file.
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require the authorized agent to provide written proof of authorization signed by you, and we may verify the agent's identity directly.
If we decline to take action on your request, you have the right to appeal our decision. To appeal:
We will respond to your appeal within 45 days. If we deny your appeal, we will provide you with instructions on how to contact the Oregon Attorney General:
